FAQ´s
Got questions about Playfight? You’re not alone.
Playfight might sound unusual or even a little intimidating if you’ve never tried it before. This FAQ is here to answer the most common questions
– from “Do I need to be fit?” to “Can I just watch?” If your question isn’t listed here, feel free to reach out directly.
Do I need previous experience or special skills?
Not at all! Playfight is for everyone – no special skills required. Come as you are, with your unique mix of experiences, strengths, vulnerabilities, and curiosity.
What if I’m not in great shape or have physical limitations?
No worries! Playfight is about listening to your body, respecting your limits, and moving in a way that feels good for you. It’s not about fitness or strength – it’s about connection and presence. If you have specific concerns or conditions, feel free to reach out, and we’ll gladly talk about your individual situation.
Is Playfight suitable for all ages?
Our workshops are designed for adults, typically from 16 or 18 years old (with parental consent for teens). There’s no upper age limit – everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, background, or experience. Most of the practice takes place on a foam judo mat. We have pillows for sitting comfortably on the floor. Upon request, chairs can be arranged too. Playfight is also a great developmental tool for teenagers. Upon request, I sometimes deliver workshops for young people and teens.
Can I come and just watch?
Absolutely yes! Observing can be a rich and meaningful way to participate. We are all connected: you’ll still be part of the Playfight circle, contributing with your presence and energy. You’re always free to choose how much you engage and can do only what feels right for you.
Are there different playfight styles or offerings outside of the Playfight described on this website?
Yes there are, Playfight can be very diverse! In fact, Vienna is one of Europe’s Playfight hotspots, offering all kinds of playfight styles. Each approach has its beauty and value. But the way we do Playfight is a little different… a little special.
What makes our type of Playfight special?
Our Playfight practice is integrated into a powerful framework to encourage transformation and authentic connection, respect, and exploration of relational dynamics. Deeply inspired by Matteo Tangi’s Playfight lineage – where I’m trained as an advanced facilitator, our approach is enriched by my unique personal skills, qualities and experience. The outcome is a welcoming space for fun, empowerment, connection, growth, and deep exploration – all in one.
Is Playfight a form of therapy or personal coaching?
The Playfight I offer is not therapy. However, in certain contexts, it becomes a powerful coaching tool and a body-based personal growth tool that can complement traditional talk therapy. Let’s bring some clarity.
Short Playfight sessions of a few hours are space for shared exploration. Here, you can notice aspects of yourself – patterns, boundaries, body sensations, feelings – and try new ways of being, outside your usual roles and behaviors. This can already be an important first step toward changes in your life.
For deeper transformation, Playfight is especially powerful in multi-day workshops – sometimes called Playfight Initiations, Deep Dives or Immersions – and individual sessions of Coaching Through Playfight. These formats allow Playfight to become an embodied coaching tool, helping you work through personal topics, let go of old patterns, and heal areas of yourself that words alone sometimes can’t reach. If you are searching for body-mind integration, overcoming inner conflicts, or a safer and structured way to process emotions consciously – Playfight is the space for you.

Is there a community aspect to Playfight?
Definitely yes! Many participants come for the Playfight and stay for the people. Playfight tends to attract kind, curious, courageous humans who enjoy consensual connection. Over time, it naturally becomes more than just workshops – it feels like being part of a community where authentic connections are formed.
Is Playfight a trauma-informed space?
Yes it is. Consent, clear boundaries, nervous system regulation and emotional safety are priorities, and the practice is based around this. You can pause or step out at any time. If you have specific concerns, feel free to reach out and we’ll discuss your individual needs.
Is Playfight always comfortable and fun?
No, not always. While Playfight brings plenty of joy, play, and laughter, it also welcomes challenge, discomfort, and difficult emotions as part of the journey. Playfight invites you to step out of your comfort zone and into the learning zone, where real growth and transformation happen. At the same time, your wellbeing, self-responsibility and self-care come first: you always choose how far you want to go, supported by the facilitator and held by the group in a safer, mindful space.
